Meet Dr. McMahan
Your care at Magnolia MD is led by Dr. Alan McMahan — a board-certified surgeon and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons with more than 35 years in medicine. He earned his medical degree with honors from the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University and completed his surgical residency at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
A lifelong Georgia physician, Dr. McMahan has spent his career caring for patients in communities across the state — and now brings that same decades-deep clinical judgment and personal, unhurried approach to medical weight loss and metabolic health for patients across Georgia, by telehealth from his home base in Eastman. At Magnolia MD, every plan is his: reviewed, personalized, and grounded in real medicine.
Questions
Yes. Your care is directed personally by board-certified Dr. Alan McMahan, a Georgia-licensed physician — not a call center. Any prescription is provided only after your consultation with him and when it’s clinically appropriate for you.
Yes. When it’s clinically appropriate, Dr. McMahan may include GLP-1 therapy as part of your personalized weight-loss plan. GLP-1 medications work with your body’s own appetite and metabolism signals to help you feel full sooner. They’re prescribed only after your consultation and with ongoing physician oversight — GLP-1 treatment isn’t right for everyone, so Dr. McMahan reviews your history and goals to recommend the safest plan for you.
Yes. Magnolia MD is a fully virtual, telehealth weight-loss practice serving adults across Georgia — from Atlanta and Macon to middle and south Georgia. You meet Dr. McMahan by secure video from home, so there’s no clinic to drive to.
Your cost depends on the personalized plan Dr. McMahan recommends, so he’ll go over exact pricing with you on your consult. Everything is bundled into one simple monthly membership — his care, medication and supplies (when appropriate), and ongoing support — and it’s cash-pay, often HSA/FSA eligible. Baseline labs may be required and are billed separately.
We’re a cash-pay practice, which keeps things simple and transparent. Many members use an HSA or FSA card.
For your safety, baseline labs may be required before treatment. They’re easy to complete online and are reviewed by Dr. McMahan.
